WHO WE ARE
PEPEHA

Our Whakapapa

Ko Hikurangi me Maungapōhatu ngā maunga

Ko Waiapu me Ohinemataroa ngā awa

Ko Nukutaimemeha, Kurahaupō, Horouta me Mataatua ngā  waka

Ko Te Ana a Mataura me Hinepūkohurangi ngā whaea atua tīpuna

Ko Takimoana, Hunaara me Hāmua ngā hapū

Ko Ruawaipu, Ngāti Porou me Ngai Tūhoe ngā iwi.

We are still getting to know our whakapapa around the rest of Papatuānuku as many of our tīpuna travelled here to Aotearoa. Our Kaa line comes from the Carr family who came from Germany, many settled in various places across Europe. We are also Goldsmith's who are of Jewish and Dutch heritages. Our Nanny has always told us we are Scottish and have links to the Spanish Manuel's who travelled here. Our Pāka lineage comes from the La Parks which ties us to the French and the First Nations people of Native America. Our whakapa too has links to the Hebrew and Egyptian.

Knowing we are from so many heritages and that there are many unknowns helps us to look across the waters beyond our bubbles. We hope we honour all our ancestors as we learn how we can give more in the world during our time here.

Our ancestors knowledges and wisdom show care, tenacity and genius. Our tīpuna are never going to leave us, we are forever connected. In the end we are all ultimately of the one source being of the very beginning.

Our differences do not have to separate us but know in pluriversity we all have something to offer to the sacred circle we call Papatuānuku rāua ko Ranginui. It is time for us to celebrate the good things, no matter how small they may seem and enjoy every moment possible in our life.

Together as a small Whānau

Although we are two sisters starting up this rongoa business our Mum is our backbone, quality control and one of our spiritual guides. We are a Māori family of three women who enjoy the depth of learning that Te Ao Rongoā (a Māori philosophy of peaceful arts) provides.

Together we aim to increase the awareness of the world of Rongoā as we share high quality handcrafted Rongoā products with a sincere focus on the native flora of Aotearoa.

It is our hope that we provide an informative environmental space from an indigenous Māori (individual, whānau, hapū and iwi) perspective by sharing ways traditional values can support health and wellbeing in reciprocity with Papatuānuku rāua ko Ranginui.

Personalised Rongoā Rākau

As guided under our tutelage we aim to make personalised rongoā rākau to provide what is specifically needed within any given time and space. This understanding is part of our kawa (restricted sacred lore), was and is the way of our tīpuna. Our kawa also retains our connection and guidance within te taiao.

You are most welcome to send us a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

WHAT WE DO

Personalised Rongoā services and products

Te Rēhua Waiora makes customised products to suit the individual and personalised services to meet the needs of individuals, whānau and communities.

We love to teach about rongoā, we continue to learn from our tuakana, peers, elders and community.

RONGOĀ KI TE TAIAO

We also practice environmentalism utilising tīpuna practices and value systems as models of practices for ourselves and the ways in which we operate.

Currently we as humanity are experiencing a environmental crisis. This means we have to make positive changes towards reconnecting to our taiao in deep and meaningful ways.

We have shared a few blogs if you're up to more reading or you can contact us for more info. We appreciate the time and effort you took to be here today and we like to hear any feedback you may have.

Ngā mihi maioha
