The naming of Te Rēhua Waiora

Rēhua also known as Antares is our guiding star as a sacred messenger of wellness. Long awaited was the planetary and star constellation shifts, from this a prophecy took place. Rēhua came to enlighten a pathway where sacred knowledges once whispered could gain voice and be prevalent once again.

Although it has been a challenge for all indigenous nations, peace prevails and restores our hearts. Wisdom of the ages comes in its spiritual waves to manifest, our reconnection with nature as our whakapapa becomes stronger and our aroha for our tīpuna, atua and Creator is shared and celebrated. For our connection is the fire that ignites life within. Links that can never be broken. 

About Rongoā (an embrace of spirituality)

Rongoā encompasses ancient Māori wisdoms deriving from the atua of peace Rongomātāne. Rākau rongoā combines Rongomātāne and Tāne Mahuta atua of the forests. With the healing properties and elements of the plants (rākau), and the traditional rituals of peace, healing essences of the plants are created for humankind (ngā tangata) to share within the values provided by the Atua. 

As the Rongoā world is explored in its depth you will find there are many Atua who combine their energies to make healing possible. This type of understanding is all part in parcel in learning about rongoā. It is a strong part of our Māori science and perspective.

We (my sister, mum and I) are  the gatherers and harvesters who are taught and work within traditional rituals and lores to maintain the integrity of the rongoā we make. We learn quickly Rongoā is vast and we are still guided today by our Mum, Aunty, Cousin and Rongoā Rōpū (group). They teach us how infinite learning is and how great it is to be student.

There are many sacred arts within rongoā that are still held in reverence today and our mātauranga (knowledge) revolves and is continually developing around the native plants of Aotearoa. Our teachers have shown that nature is our greatest guide and teacher which encompasses our deep wairua (spiritual) connection with Papatuānuku rāua ko Ranginui.

It is the kawa (restricted sacred lore) and tikanga/traditional practices that have been handed down which allows for an opportunity to assist in the sustainability of wellness for humanity and for the world in which we need to repair. With a reconnection to nature as our teacher we believe we will leave a more joyous, caring and abundant future.
